The Hunger Games: Catching Fire kept the box office ablaze on Wednesday with an estimated $20.7 million in ticket sales. The result pushed the film’s six-day total past the $200 million mark to about $204 million and caused pundits to reassess their earlier forecasts, with some now predicting that the holiday weekend could produce $100 million for the movie — well above the original forecast of $75-85 million. Disney’s Frozen was also performing better than expected, earning an estimated $15.2 million and an A+ grade from opening-day audiences. But two other new films, Open Road’s Homefront, and Fox Searchlight’s Black Nativity appeared to have been swamped by the competition, the former earning just $1.4 million and the latter $440,000.
