The sex scandal involving the late BBC host Jimmy Savile has spread to police in Sussex where two detectives now stand accused of warning one of his victims that no one would believe her allegations against him. Britain’s Guardian newspaper reported today (Thursday) that one of the detectives, referred to in the complaint only as DC T, allegedly told the woman in 2008 that Savile and his lawyers “would make mincemeat” out of her if she took the matter to court. The two officers reportedly are continuing in their normal duties. The Guardian quoted an adviser to the Crown Prosecution Service as saying that the alleged victim told her that she “got the clear impression from the police that she would be publicly branded a liar and that her name would be all over the newspapers, particularly if she lost the case.”
