Sunday night was once again football night in America, as NBC’s primetime NFL game averaged 15.34 million viewers from 8:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., and CBS’s overrun of Sunday Night Football attracted 23.11 million viewers. That overrun also helped an 8:00 p.m. edition of CBS’s 60 Minutes, which averaged 15.09 million viewers. Also at 8:00 p.m., an original episode of The Simpsons on Fox drew 5.26 million viewers, who saw Bart writing “We’ll really miss you Mrs. K” on the blackboard during the opening credits. Marcia Wallace, who provided the voice of Bart’s teacher, Mrs. Krabappel, died on Oct. 25. Earlier, Fox broadcast an episode titled “The Ned-liest Catch,” which featured Wallace.
