The late Jimmy Savile, the former BBC host who stands accused of serial sex offenses against teenage fans committed at the BBC and elsewhere, reportedly cultivated friendships with BBC security staff that allowed the teenagers to visit him in his dressing room, the London Daily Mirror reported today (Wednesday). The newspaper published a copy of a handwritten note that Savile wrote to his “BBC Security friends,” reading, “Please admit these three ladies to my room. Tickets inside. Ta.” An unnamed BBC source told the newspaper, ‘It perfectly illustrates the position of power Savile had. … He flattered and made friends with security staff and this enabled him to carry out his horrendous attacks.”
