IT’S SUMMER IN NOVEMBER FOR HOME VIDEO

November 21, 2013 by · Leave a Comment

So far as home video is concerned, it might as well be summer. Two big summer blockbusters dominated video sales last week, headed by Warner Bros.’ Man of Steel and followed by DreamWorks Animation’s Turbo, according to the Nielsen VideoScan First Alert sales chart. The chart, which does not disclose dollar-and-cents grosses, displaced Walt Disney Stdios’ Monsters University, which dropped to No. 3 after heading the list for the previous two weeks. In fourth place was Sony’s Grown Ups 2, followed by Sony’s White House Down. On Home Media magazine’s rental chart, 20th Century Fox’s The Heat came in at No. 1, followed by Warner Bros.’ Pacific Rim at No. 2. The two films debuted on the rental list after waiting the mandatory 28 days from the time they were released in stores.
