With 26.5 million viewers tuning in, NBC’S Sunday Night Football easily topped last week’s ratings. CBS’s NCIS was a distant second with 19.7 million but lengths ahead of most dramatic shows for the week. Likewise the CBS comedy, The Big Bang Theory, dominated its genre with 18.9 million viewers. In the third week of Standard Time, ratings for the evening newscasts continued to climb (they generally drop during Daylight Saving Time), with NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams again leading the field with 9.3 million viewers, beating ABC World News, which remained in second place with 8.3 million viewers. The CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley, perennially an also-ran, appeared to be mounting a significant challenge (at least to the Sawyer newscast) with 7.6 million viewers. For the week overall, CBS remained in the lead among total viewers with a 6.2 rating and a 10 share. ABC placed second with a 5.3/9, just ahead of NBC with a 5.2/8. Fox trailed with a 3.6/6.
