FIRST MOVIE AWARDS ANNOUNCED FOR 2013

The New York Critics Film Circle, the group that launches the movie awards season each year, has selected the comedy American Hustle as the best film of the year. Jennifer Lawrence, who has a supporting role in the movie, was voted supporting actress of the year for the movie. The New York Post reported that Hustle came out on top after an extraordinary six rounds of balloting. Steve McQueen took the awards for 12 Years a Slave. Robert Redford received the best actor award for his performance in All is Lost, while Cate Blanchett came out on top in the voting for best actress.
