Shia LaBeouf has removed his short film HowardCantour.com after being accused of plagiarizing it from a 2007 graphic novel, Justin M. Damiano, by Daniel Clowes, who accused the actor on Monday of plagiarism. In a series of tweets after several film bloggers had earlier exposed the video as a virtual copy of Clowes’s work, LaBeouf wrote, “In my excitement and naivete as an amateur filmmaker, I got lost in the creative process and neglected to follow proper accreditation. I’m embarrassed that I failed to credit @danielclowes for his original graphic novella Justin M. Damiano, which served as my inspiration. … I apologize to all who assumed I wrote it. … I f***ed up.”
