NATIONAL BOARD OF REVIEW NAMES HER YEAR’S BEST FILM

December 5, 2013 by · Leave a Comment

One day after the New York Film Critics Circle bestowed its best film award — and other awards — on American Hustle, the National Board of Review announced its own awards and snubbed American Hustle entirely. Instead, the group awarded Spike Jonze’s Her its top award and handed Jonze the award for best director. The NBR also handed out best-actor trophies to Bruce Dern for his role in Nebraska and to Emma Thompson for her role in Saving Mr. Banks. The award for best screenplay went to the Coen Brothers for Inside Llewyn Davis.
