Russian Car Commercial Figure Skates to 2.5 Million Views

A Russian car commercial that hit the Internet in the fall has now been watched nearly 2.5 million times on YouTube. The commercial, which features a pair of figure-skating humans choreographed with a pair of figure-skating cars, has also touched off a bit of a controversy among skating fans and professional skaters on various blogs devoted to the sport. On GoldenSkate.com, several commenters noted that the human skaters appear to be models, not trained skaters, performing simple moves. “I doubt they were elite skaters; their edges were weak and not very deep. … Very disappointing,” wrote one. Another replied: “But did you see how the black car held that deep outside edge?”
