John Goodman was clearly not so big a draw as the boy band One Direction was the previous week, but Saturday Night Live, with Goodman as host, nevertheless again drew more viewers than any program airing earlier in the night on primetime. According to TVbytheNumbers.com, Saturday night’s episode averaged a 2.1 rating among viewers 18-49 versus a 2.5 rating a week earlier. Among overall households, it averaged a 4.5 rating and an 11 share. Football continued to dominate Sunday night, with NBC’s coverage of the Bengals-Steelers game capturing 12.56 million viewers in prime time and Fox’s overrun in the 7:00 p.m. half hour grabbing 21.38 million viewers and its post-game show, The OT, holding on to 12.65 million of them.
