CRITICS CHOICE AWARDS HANDED OUT

The Broadcast Film Critics Association, the largest film critics group in the U.S., has named 12 Years a Slave Best Picture of 2013 at its annual Critics Choice Awards gala in New York. However, Alfonso Cuarón’s Gravity won the most awards with seven, including Best Director. Matthew McConaughey won the Best Actor award for his performance in Dallas Buyers Club, while Cate Blanchett received the Best Actress award for her performance in Blue Jasmine.
