DESPICABLE ME 2 SETS DVD RECORD

For the fifth straight week — apparently a record streak — Despicable Me 2 is the top-selling movie on home video. Home Media magazine indicated that it has even beaten Avatar, which remained at No. 1 for four weeks after its release but slipped to No. 2 in its fifth week. Perhaps getting some impetus from the scandal over Phil Robertson’s remarks about gays, a Duck Dynasty box set came in second. Fast & Furious 6 and Despicable Me 2 debuted at the top of Home Media‘s rental chart following the 28-day cooling period when online videos by some studios are not made available to the two top renters — Netflix and Redbox.
