IDOL FALLS AGAIN BUT STILL NO. 1

January 17, 2014 by · Leave a Comment

Fox’s American Idol remained the most-watched show on Thursday night, but its numbers fell again, this time to 13.18 million viewers. Even more disheartening for the producers of the show must have been the realization that a rerun of CBS’s The Big Bang Theory overtook it with 11.89 million viewers in the 8:00 p.m. half hour, while Idol averaged 11.79 million during that time period. The same figures held for 8:30 p.m. when CBS aired The Millers. CBS, in fact, aired a full slate of reruns Thursday night that together averaged 7.22 million viewers, a little more than half Fox’s total. ABC wound up the night with an average 3.35 million viewers and NBC with 3.14 million.
