The number of people who watch television shows via their DVRs within three days of the original broadcast appears to be rising substantially. CBS said on Tuesday that 2.53 million additional viewers watched the January 14 broadcast of NCIS: Los Angeles on January 15, 16 and 17, bringing its “Live Plus 3” total to 18.41 million viewers, up from an original 15.87 million. It was the largest audience the show has ever delivered in total numbers and also 1849-year-old viewers. Likewise, the January 15 broadcast of Criminal Minds added 2.89 million viewers during the following three days, raising the total number of viewers for the show to 13.25 million from 10.36 million for the live broadcast and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation on the same night added 3.29 million viewers on the three days that followed. The figures represented the best Live Plus 3 numbers for those two shows, as well. Finally, the January 14 edition of NCIS matched its best Live Plus 3 ratings as it added 3.30 million viewers on the following days, bringing its total to 23.02 million from the original 19.72 million for the live broadcast alone.
