NEW YORK TIMES LEAKS DETAILS OF NEW ROGER AILES BIO

A new book about Fox News Chairman Roger Ailes apparently contains no bombshell news about the controversial executive but does offer an often graphic description of his personality and motivations, a New York Times summary of the book, The Loudest Voice in the Room by Gabriel Sherman, seems to suggest. The book claims that in the run-up to the 2012 presidential election, Ailes told fellow Fox News executives, “I want to elect the next president.” He is often disdainful of the news channel’s talent, referring to the channel’s star, Bill O’Reilly, as “a book salesman with a TV show” and Brian Kilmeade as “a soccer coach from Long Island.” The book also claims that in the 1980s, when he was an executive at NBC, he offered a TV producer an additional $100 a week if she would have sex with him whenever he wanted it. A Fox News spokeswoman said on Tuesday that the charges are false.
