TWO AND A HALF MEN SINKS TO LOWEST RATING EVER

January 31, 2014 by · Leave a Comment

Increasing speculation that this will likely be the final season for CBS’s Two and a Half Men, the show hit a series low Thursday, with 8.6 million viewers tuning in. While it remained the highest-rated show in its time period, it is also for advertisers one of the most expensive shows on the air, given sky-high payments to the cast. Earlier in the evening, CBS’s The Big Bang Theory drew 18.9 million viewers, and, with just a few million short of that number, Two and a Half Men had been the second-highest-rated sitcom on TV. Falling ratings for the sitcom have not hurt the CBS drama Elementary, which followed at 10:00 p.m. It averaged 10.2 million viewers, handily beating NBC’s Saturday Night Live Sports Spectacular with 4.7 million viewers and ABC’s Shark Tank with 3.8 million.
