GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL REGISTERS RAVES IN BERLIN

The Berlin Film Festival got off to a spirited start on Thursday thanks to a blaze of rave reviews for Wes Anderson’s The Grand Budapest Hotel, starring Ralph Fiennes, the festival’s opening-night film, which is entered in the competition. London Telegraph critic Tim Robey called it, “the most intensely pleasurable curtain-raiser in recent history, if not ever.” The weather is also cooperating. For Berlin, the dry 50-degree weather is perhaps the mildest it has experienced during the festival in recent memory.
