Robocop had no difficulty firing its way to the top of the overseas box office, grossing $35 million in its second week, to bring its international total to $70 million. The Lego Movie also continued to build its substantial booty overseas, where it pulled in $27.7 million — about half of that amount ($13.4 million) from the U.K. alone. It is currently playing in 42 markets and has taken in $51.2 million since its opening. It is due to open in France, Italy and Russia this week. Frozen, too, continued to bolster its box-office success, earning an estimated $18.2 million in its 12th week to raise its international gross to $579.9 million. Combined with its North American takings, its worldwide take stands at just under $1 billion ($955.7 million), as it remains a powerful presence at the box office. This weekend, it became the third highest-grossing animated release ever, passing Shrek 2.
