STORMY WEATHER MAY HOBBLE BOX OFFICE

February 13, 2014 by · Leave a Comment

Severe weather along the East Coast is likely to hold down movie attendance this weekend, box office forecasters have duly observed after the remake of Robocop opened to an estimated $2.8 million on Wednesday. The current storm is heading up the East Coast, with forecasters predicting that its full impact on the Northeast could be felt on Friday. Robocop was released mid-week in hopes of getting a jump on two other remakes that are also opening this weekend, Universal’s Endless Love and Sony’s About Last Night. None of the three reboots, however, is expected to overtake last week’s No. 1 film, The Lego Movie, although the weather could impact attendance significantly.
