WOMAN ARRESTED FOR FAILING TO RETURN FILM RENTED NINE YEARS AGO

A woman who failed to return a video that she rented in 2005 was arrested and charged with petty larceny last Thursday, spending the night in the Pickens, SC jail. The news was broken by a local Fox TV station and spread quickly on Facebook. The woman, Kayla Michelle Finley, acknowledged that she had rented the film, Monster-in-Law, starring Jennifer Lopez, but maintained that she had simply forgotten to return it. She claimed that she never received an overdue notice from her local video rental store. Finley was arrested after she went to the local sheriffs office in Pickens to report that she was being stalked and harassed. “I’m no criminal,” she said on Facebook, “but Pickens county sheriffs office sure made me feel like I was. … This is a bogus charge and everyone knows it.”
