For the second week in a row, Lionsgate’s The Hunger Games: Catching Fire held the top spot on the Nielsen VideoScan First Alert sales charts. In second place was Universal’s Homefront, but Home Media magazine noted that it sold just 17 percent as many units as the Hunger Games sequel. Fire was also No. 1 on the magazine’s rental chart (Lionsgate does not impose a 28 day waiting period before releasing its movies to top renters Netflix and Redbox). No. 2 on the rental list was Dallas Buyers Club. The top seller for this week has already been established. Disney’s Frozen flew off retailers shelves on Tuesday, the day it was released. The studio said that 3.2 million units sold on the first day, making it the fastest-selling DVD/Blu-ray release in history. The Oscar-winning song “Let It Go” also returned to first place on Billboard’s record chart.
