MOVIE REVIEWS: SABOTAGE

The last time Arnold Schwarzenegger was attacked as viciously as he has for his performance in Sabotage, he was still governor of California. Scott Bowles in USA Today: writes: “Someone needs to get impeached for his star vehicle Sabotage, indisputably the most violent film of the year and disputably the worst.” Post-governator, says Manohla Dargis in the New York Times, “He can still bench-press serious weight, as a narratively superfluous visit to a gym makes clear, and he’s still not an actor, as is evident by the confusingly indistinguishable grimaces, smiles and vacant looks that he’s put into rotation here.” But the question arises — isn’t that all to be expected in an Arnold Schwarzengger movie? Ty Burr sums up in the Boston Globe: “The new Arnold Schwarzenegger vehicle, “Sabotage,” is stupid, sadistic, misogynistic, confusing, and more than a little ridiculous. Here’s the thing, though: It keeps you watching.”
