As part of his continuing effort to encourage Americans to sign up for the Affordable Care Act — Obamacare — before the March 31 deadline, President Obama appeared on Ellen DeGeneres’s afternoon talk show today (Thursday) and complained about that Oscars selfie that became the most retweeted tweet ever, replacing the record set by the president’s own tweet following his 2012 victory. “I don’t know if you know this,” DeGeneres said, “but I was aiming to break your record of retweets, and I apologize for doing it.” Replied the president, “I heard about that. I thought it was a pretty cheap stunt myself. Getting a bunch of celebrities in the background, you feeding them pizza.” At another point in the interview, Obama indicated that he is a fan of Netflix’s House of Cards. However, he remarked, “Life in Washington is a little more boring than displayed on the screen. The truth of the matter” he said, “is that if you followed me, most of my day is sitting in a room listening to folks in gray suits talking about a whole bunch of stuff that wouldn’t make very good television.”
