SNOWDEN MAY UPSTAGE SXSW FILMMAKERS

While Austin, Texas’s South by Southwest (SXSW) annual conference is best known for its film festival and discussions with filmmakers (among those taking part in the discussions this year are Tilda Swinton, Jason Bateman, Jon Favreau, Ralph Steadman, Nicolas Cage, Alejandro Jodorowsky, and Robert Duvall), the event’s thunder may be stolen this year by the conference’s digital section at which former Guardian reporter Glenn Greenwald will appear along with his source for his articles about the NSA, Edward Snowden. Snowden will speak to the conference via satellite from Moscow. Also appearing via satellite will be WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange. The conference kicks off on March 7 and runs through the 11th.
