For the third week in a row, Walt Disney Studios’ Frozen remained the top-selling DVD and Blu-ray Disk at the nation’s retailers, according to the Nielsen VideoScan First Alert sales charts. Although those charts do not put a dollar amount on sales, Nielsen did indicate that Frozen sold twice as many copies as the just-released Anchorman 2. Adding to the fantastic results for the movie was the fact that it was still playing in nearly 400 theaters after 20 weeks in release, and doing quite nicely in those venues. It has now racked up $399 million in theaters domestically and looks set to cross the $400-million mark sometime within the next week. Meanwhile another Disney film, the direct-to-video The Pirate Fairy came in at No. 2 on the sales charts, while Paramount’s Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues debuted in third place. Universal’s 47 Ronin, another new release, placed fourth, followed by Paramount’s The Wolf of Wall Street, which entered the sales charts a week earlier at No. 2.
