SCANDAL SEASON FINALE GIVES ABC THURSDAY RATINGS WIN

ABC’s Scandal led the network to a Thursday-night ratings victory among viewers 18-49 and produced its best numbers ever for a season finale, the network said today (Friday), citing Nielsen figures. The show averaged 10.45 million viewers and posted a 3.4/10 in the demo, to complete its best-ever season. By comparison, its 2013 season finale drew 9.1 million viewers and a 3.2/9 in the demo. While a repeat episode of Grey’s Anatomy in the 8:00 p.m. hour averaged just 3.47 million viewers (and a third place among the networks), the drama zoomed to the top with an original episode at 9:00 that attracted 8.1 million viewers. While those figures may seem impressive, it should be pointed out that a repeat episode of CBS’s The Big Bang Theory at 8:00 p.m. was the most-watched show of the night with 10.83 million viewers.
