WILL WOMEN RULE THE BOX OFFICE THIS WEEKEND?

Move over, Captain America, the women are taking over. At least so say most box-office analysts, who are predicting that The Other Woman, starring Cameron Diaz, Leslie Mann and supermodel Kate Upton, will become the ticket-sales leader this weekend with around $18 million, versus about $15 million for Captain America: The Winter Soldier. The superhero movie claimed the top spot for the past three weeks and has crossed the $200-million mark domestically. Also opening this weekend is the Paul Walker action film Brick Mansions, the last film Walker completed before his death in an auto accident last November. It’s expected to earn around $8-10 million. A third new film, the horror flick The Quiet Ones, is not expected to earn much more than $5 million. Holdovers Heaven Is for Real and Rio 2 are also expected to finish in the top five with around $14 million each.
