THURSDAY-NIGHT RATINGS PLUMMET; CBS STILL ON TOP

CBS’s big Thursday-night comedy lineup has gone into summer rerun mode, but even with ratings down by more than a third from last week, it was still the most-watched television network of the night. The highest-rated show on Thursday was, as usual, The Big Bang Theory, which drew 8.94 million viewers, down from 16.7 million for the season closer a week ago. But its competition fared much worse, Fox’s Hell’s Kitchen drew 4.1 million viewers to take second place in the 8:00 period, while an original episode of NBC’s Hollywood Game Night attracted 3.90 million. A 90-minute reprise of ABC’s The Bachelorette could only average 2.69 million viewers. CBS’s only non-repeat, Bad Teacher, averaged 4.45 million viewers at 9:30 p.m. An original episode of ABC’s Black Box at 10:00 p.m. could only attract 3.72 million viewers.
