YAHOO! WANTS TO KNOW, WHERE ARE KATIE’S BIG “GETS?”

Yahoo! executives are reportedly unhappy that Katie Couric, who was signed as a global news anchor for a reported $6 million a year, is not delivering big-name interviews as was expected, the New York Daily News reported today (Tuesday), citing an unnamed source. “They thought Katie was a huge get and that huge stars would follow, with major interviews,” the source was quoted as saying. Instead she’s had two that are memorable, and one was a book tour.” The one on the book tour, presumably, was former Defense Secretary Robert Gates, author of Duty: Memoirs of a Secretary at War, who sat down for a 52-minute interview with Couric last January. The Daily News cited another source as saying that Couric is planning to bring more big names to Yahoo! once her daytime talk show Katie winds up its run next month.
