CBS’s Big Brother returned for a 16th season on Wednesday as the highest-rated program of the night on any network. The episode, which introduced eight of the 16 housemates, attracted 6.64 million viewers, up 2 percent from the season 15 debut a year ago. The episode was also the highest-rated of the night among the 18-29 age group. The strong results also cut into the ratings for rival programs. Particularly hard hit was Fox’s So You Think You Ca Dance, which was down a whopping 18 percent from a week ago to 4.38 million. But ratings held relatively firm for NBC’s America’s Got Talent, considering the fact that it was airing a repeat,. The show drew 6.20 million viewers, down from Sunday’s 8 million for a live telecast.
