At the domestic box office, it was the lull before the storm that will accompany the arrival of the next Transformers movie next weekend. The total box office was down a whopping 40 percent from the same weekend a year ago when Monsters University debuted at No. 1 with $82.4 million and World War Z at No. 2 with $66.4 million. By contrast, no film this weekend cracked even $30 million. Sony’s Think Like a Man Too opened with $29.2 million, just behind the second week of the studio’s 22 Jump Street, with $27.5 million. (The movie crossed the $100 million mark as its gross rose to $109.9 million over its first ten days in release.) Fox/DreamWorks’ How to Train Your Dragon 2 placed third with $24.7 million, while Warner Bros.’ Jersey Boys disappointed with just $13.3 million. Disney’s Maleficent rounded out the top five with $12.9 million.
