After dropping out of first place during the week ending May 18, Disney’s Frozen has returned to the top spot again on the home video sales chart, the eighth time it has done so and the second time after being nudged out of the lead by rival films. According to the Nielsen VideoScan First Alert sales chart, the movie may have been the leading seller among total DVD and Blu-ray releases but the 20th Century Fox classic Avatar outsold it on the dedicated Blu-ray Disc sales chart, largely as the result of a “Value of the Day” Walmart promotion in which the DVD and Blu-ray versions were priced at $9.96, or 75 percent off the regular price. Avatar came in at No. 3 on the overall list of top video sellers. Last week’s No. 1 film, Sony’s The Monuments Men, slipped to No. 2. However, it remained at No. 1 on Home Media magazine’s rental chart, where it was followed b Pompei and Ride Along.
