Three new home video releases jumped to the top of the Nielsen VideoScan First Alert chart for last week, with Universal’s Lone Survivor in the No. 1 position, followed by MGM’s RoboCop remake and 20th Century Fox’s Son of God. Walt Disney’s Frozen, which returned to the top of the list last week for the first time in a month, dropped to No. 4. HBO’s True Blood: The Complete Sixth Season rounded out the top five. Home Media magazine observed that the sales success of the True Blood package indicates that despite the plethora of TV content readily and cheaply available on Netflix, the TV-on-disc business remains viable. Home Media magazine’s rental chart saw Sony’s Monuments Men hold on to first place for the second week in a row, followed by Universal’s Ride Along.
