NBC, which saw its ratings among the key 18-49 age group rise significantly for the first time in years during the regular season, has got off to a good start during the summer season, too. It placed four shows among the top ten in that demo, including the No. 1 show, Tuesday’s edition of America’s Got Talent, which was also No. 1 among total adults. Spanish-language Univision also scored strongly, coming in at No. 2, with four shows in the top ten. Nevertheless, CBS continued to draw the most viewers. A repeat of its The Big Bang Theory came in at No. 2 among total viewers and viewers 18-49. Ratings for the evening newscasts lined up as usual, with NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams once again leading the field with 8.1 million viewers. ABC World News with Diane Sawyer placed second with 7.3 million viewers, while The CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley pulled up the rear with 6.0 million viewers. For the week, CBS led with an average 3.6 household rating and a 6 share. It was closely followed by NBC with a 3.2/6. ABC followed in third place with a 2.7/5, while Fox trailed with a 1.9/3.
