Another prank call from a Howard Stern fan has been added to the YouTube collection of such calls, this one involving an unsuspecting newscaster on MSNBC. On Thursday, Krystal Ball (a provocative name for a newscaster), who hosts MSNBC’s The Cycle, received a call from a man saying that he was a member of the U.S. military in Ukraine and had witnessed the downing of the Malaysian Airlines plane. With the words, "Eyewitness Exclusive" appearing at the bottom of the screen, Ball introduced the man by saying, "Let’s turn now to an MSNBC exclusive. U.S. Staff Sergeant Michael Boyd, he is at the U.S. embassy in Ukraine and he says he saw a missile in the air hit the plane. He is on the phone with us." The "MSNBC exclusive" quickly got out of hand when the man described what he saw. "Well, I was looking out the window and I saw a projectile flying in the sky and it would appear the plane was shot down by a blast of wind from Howard Stern’s ass," he said. But Ball, in the tradition of broadcast interviewers who focus more on asking questions than listening to answers had apparently a second question all prepared, and she proceeded to ask it."So it would appear the plane was shot down. Can you tell us anything more from your military training what sort of missile system that may have been coming from?" The caller, apparently surprised that he was still on the air, responded, "Well, you’re a dumb ass, aren’t you." Ball, apparently still unaware that she was being pranked, responded, "I’m sorry sir?" She then apparently got word through her earpiece that she should take a break for a commercial. When she returned, she announced, "We thought we had an eyewitness on the scene. That individual was not actually an eyewitness,"
