ABC’s syndicated morning show The View will begin doing on-air auditions today (Monday) to find replacements for Jenny McCarthy, Sherri Shepherd and Elisabeth Hasselbeck. The show’s producers have already added Rosie O’Donnell. But, reports indicate, now comes the hard part: finding someone who can work effectively with O’Donnell. Today’s New York Daily News, citing unnamed show insiders, reported that "one of the show’s top priorities is finding a conservative who’ll get along with newly rehired host Rosie O’Donnell — something Hasselbeck struggled to do during O’Donnell’s first go-round, in 2007." Their failure to "get along," however, boosted ratings for The View at the time, even though, as the newspaper’s source remarked, "No one was making any salient points. They were just fighting." Leading conservative contenders for the job, the newspaper said, were its own regular contributor S.E. Cupp and Fox News host Juliet Huddy.
