A 1,500-word short story posted by J.K. Rowling on her Pottermore website in which she brought Harry Potter fans up to date on the adult lives of her characters stunned her fans on Tuesday and immediately raised questions about whether there would be yet another Harry Potter movie based on the story. Reporting on it, the Los Angeles Times observed that it "certainly whet the appetites of Potter fanatics yearning for more of the Boy Who Lived." But the Times indicated that there does not appear to be the makings of a movie in the new story, which, it said, "doesn’t offer much more than surface observations and a few teases." Daniel Radcliffe, who plays the title character, was asked about the story at the TV critics press tour in Los Angeles on Tuesday. He said that he was "inclined to say no" to an offer to appear in another Potter movie, then added: "It’s not even really a hypothetical question now. … I haven’t read it yet, though I will, but my understanding is that it’s very short, not worthy of adaptation to film."
