FOOTBALL RETURNS — DOWN 26 PERCENT

August 4, 2014 by · Leave a Comment

Preseason NFL football kicked of on NBC Sunday night with the NFL Hall of Fame Game pitting the New York Giants against the Buffalo Bills. But it was not the highest-rated program of the night (CBS’s 60 Minutes was), and its total number of viewers, 7.80 million, was a whopping 26 percent below those for last August’s preseason opener. On CBS, the reality series Big Brother also saw its ratings sink to 6.67 million viewers. It was down 14 percent from last week. All other shows for the night averaged fewer than 4 million viewers.
