ANHEUSER-BUSCH TO NFL: CLEAN UP YOUR ACT OR ELSE

Anheuser-Busch, which spends more on TV sports advertising than any other company, has strongly criticized the National Football League for its handling of recent scandals involving its players. In a statement, the company, whose brands include Budweiser, Bud Light, and Michelob, said that it is "disappointed and increasingly concerned by the recent incidents that have overshadowed this NFL season." What concerns it particularly, the company said, was "the league’s handling of behaviors that so clearly go against our own company’s culture and moral code." A-B said that it had "shared our concerns and expectations" with NFL officials, but it did not specify in its public statement what those expectations are.
