Captain America: The Winter Soldier, which had held the title of the top box-office champ of 2014 until Guardians of the Galaxy snatched it away last month, made its home-video debut last week and completely dominated sales. The Disney/Marvel blockbuster, which earned $260 million domestically and $714 million worldwide despite debuting in April, led four other new releases. Although the Nielsen VideoScan First Alert charts don’t disclose actual sales figures, they did indicate that the No. 2 film, Fox’s Brick Mansions sold only 8.2 percent as many copies as the Captain America sequel. Since most Disney movies must wait 28 days before they can be rented on Netflix, Redbox and other mass-market video rental outlets, Home Media magazine’s rental chart put 20th Century Fox’s The Other Woman on top of its list of most-rented videos. Draft Day slipped to No.2 from its No. 1 position a week earlier, followed by The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
