Despite persistent reports that Rosie O’Donnell was unhappy over not being offered the moderator’s post when she returned to ABC’s The View this month, she put on a show of harmony when producers decided to keep Whoopi Goldberg in that seat. But relations between O’Donnell and Goldberg may be deteriorating rapidly. The London Daily Mail reported on Monday that the two went at it verbally before a studio audience during a commercial break. Goldberg, it seems, received word from the show’s producers that a "Hot Topic" segment was running overtime; they asked Goldberg, who was wearing an earpiece, to cut off the discussion and go to a commercial. Rosie, who refuses to wear an earpiece, objected — and that’s when things got out of hand. During the commercial break, O’Donnell told Goldberg that her feelings were hurt and that she was "very upset" about being cut off. Responded Whoopi: "This isn’t the time for this, Rosie." But O’Donnell was undeterred and continued reproaching Goldberg who eventually fired back: "F*** it, I told you to leave it alone and you just don’t want to listen. If you want to go there Rosie, I will dammit. I’m really sick of your s***. Said the Mail, "Producers hurried over to the two ladies with notes and information regarding the next segment and when the show returned live, it was as though nothing had gone wrong."
