WHO SENT RICE VIDEO TO THE NFL — AND WHEN?

Five months after security cameras at the Revel Casino in New Jersey captured the Baltimore Ravens’ Ray Rice punching out his then-fiancée, the NFL has reportedly asked the casino whether it sent a video of the attack to the league and, if so, who might have done so? TMZ.com, which was the first to reveal the tape, said that three copies originally existed, plus the original. One copy was made for the casino, another for Casino Security Investigations and a third for an unspecified "state law enforcement agency." (The $2.4-billion resort, which said it had been losing more than $1 million per week, shut down on Sept. 2 after its owners failed to find a buyer.) Meanwhile, CBS, airing its first Thursday Night Football game, dumped a planned opening theme song featuring Rihanna singing "Run This Town," written by Jay Z, and comedy elements with Don Cheadle — replacing it instead with an interview with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell conducted by Norah O’Donnell.
