In its second week, ABC’s racially controversial blackish dropped more than 25 percent of its total audience from its premiere, largely due to stronger competition, especially from the season opener of CBS’s Criminal Minds, which averaged 11.34 million viewers in the 9:30 p.m. half-hour to 7.96 million for blackish. Among the 18-49 age group, the two shows were running almost neck-and-neck, with Minds posting a 2.6 rating and an 8 share and blackish a 2.5/7. Meanwhile, the series premiere of CBS’s Stalker posted solid numbers as it debuted in first place with 9.07 million viewers and a 2.0/6 in the key demo.
