CAST, FANS FIGHT DALLAS CANCELLATION

October 6, 2014 by · Leave a Comment

TNT has canceled Dallas after three seasons, but the show is not going without a fight. Although the network praised the series, noting that it "defied expectations by standing as a worthy continuation of the Ewing saga," it was unable to hold on to the solid ratings it had garnered upon its return following the death of Larry Hagman. TNT’s axe fell just two weeks after Season 3’s finale, which set off a tweet storm over a plot twist/cliffhanger. A petition posted to save the series on Causes.org quickly attracted more than 20,000 signatures. On Twitter, veteran Dallas costar Patrick Duffy urged another network to come forward to pick up the series. Two other cast members, Mitch Pileggi and Brenda Strong also encouraged fans to keep up the "Save Dallas" ampaign. The website DallasDecoder.com urged fans to "fight back." Meanwhile, as one iconic series fades, another is returning. Showtime announced today (Monday) that it will revive the cult classic Twin Peaks in 2016 with David Lynch and Mark Frost coming up with scripts for a nine-episode limited series and with Lynch directing.
