FXX LAUNCHES "SIMPSONS WORLD" APP

Users of smartphones, most tablets and other Internet-connected devices are now able to download an app that will allow them to watch any of the 552 episodes of The Simpsons anywhere at any time. The "Simpsons World" app is available at all the usual iOS and Android places. However, users must be "authenticated" — meaning that they must subscribe to a cable provider that offers the FXX channel. (Thus far, DirecTV, Dish and Verizon are not authenticating subscribers.) The app also includes information about the characters and the individual episodes as well as a "popularity meter" to indicate which shows Simpsons lovers love best. It is not commercial free, but FXX maintains that the ads will be "limited."
