Netflix, Amazon Prime and Hulu will together spend $6.8 billion for movies and TV shows next year, up from $5.2 billion this year, according to a report by analyst David Bank of RBC Capital Markets. Netflix is likely to remain the biggest spender on content, shelling out $3 billion, with about $300 million for original programming. "Netflix will have exclusive content from some of the most high-profile talent in Hollywood and tends to have limited ‘bombs.’ There also tends to be a great deal of positive buzz around these shows," Bank wrote. He foresaw CBS, 21st Century Fox, Time Warner and Lionsgate as the three video-on-demand companies’ biggest content providers.
