College football came roaring back Saturday night when ABC’s telecast of the Notre Dame/Florida State game attracted an average of 12.03 million viewers, making it the most-watched non-championship-series game in two years. The game also drew a dominant 3.7 rating and a 13 share among viewers 18-49. Nothing else came close. The highest-rated non-sports show was CBS’s 48 Hours with 4.57 million viewers. Everything else was a repeat. Football also dominated on Sunday with NBC’s Sunday Night Football (San Francisco 49ers versus Denver Broncos) averaging 20.08 million viewers in primetime. Earlier in the evening, Fox’s NFL overrun averaged 22.03 million viewers.
