It was a travel day for the World Series on Thursday, giving CBS’s Thursday Night Football free reign to clobber the competition. The Denver Broncos-San Diego Chargers matchup, which saw the Peyton Manning-led Broncos score a 35-21 win, averaged 15.1 million total adult viewers, according to preliminary Nielsen figures. It was the final NFL football game that that CBS will be allowed to broadcast on Thursdays this year. Next week, it returns its regular Thursday lineup to the air with The Big Bang Theory, Two and a Half Men, and Elementary. Despite the dominating football figures, ABC drew some decent ratings. Grey’s Anatomy landed 8.6 million viewers; Scandal, 10 million; and How to Get Away with Murder, 9.8 million.
