WILL A SIXTH GAME BOOST WORLD SERIES RATINGS?

Fox is hoping that tonight’s coverage of the World Series from Kansas City will see the same sort of ratings jump that occurred last year for the sixth game. With the Giants leading the Royals three games to two, tonight’s game could be the deciding one if the Giants win it. If they don’t, even bigger ratings would be assured for a seventh game tomorrow. Last year the number of viewers for Game 6 jumped to 19.2 million from 14.5 million for Game 5. But none of the games this year has drawn even 13 million. (Game 2 was the most-watched with 12.9 million.) The Series has been going great guns on Twitter, however, generating more tweets even than the NFL games.
